Off Road Trips

Flat Nasty 6-26-10 In the ’87 XJ

This was another trip where I had hoped to wheel 2 days in a row, but once again this park foiled my attempts to do so. But that’s not to say I didn’t have quite a bit of fun before being drug back onto trailer at the end of the day. We had once again rented the cabin for the weekend and had a great time sitting hanging out after a day of wheeling.

We traveled a decent amount of the park on this trip as well:

The group spent some time playing around on “The Bears” (Papa, Momma, Baby) which is one of the obstacles the park is known for. They have even had and Ultimate Adventure or two go over them:

The ’87 even managed to climb out of this spot:

My Number finally came up on #4 at the end of the day Saturday. I managed to kill the rear drive shaft (Which was bent up pretty good to start with) and snap a D30 stub shaft during the recovery. While I was attached to Paul’s Jeep, I can’t blame him for this 😉

A thanks to Tink and Paul for getting me back to the trailer, and I was very happy to have a trailer to get home on that day! I was a bit bummed that I have once again been foiled trying to wheel down there two days in a row.
