20th ORT in The Lone Ranger – Flat Nasty 8/24/13
A couple of folks headed down the Friday before to do a little camping down at the park. It’s a primitive campground, and since the park wasn’t busy, we had the whole area to ourselves which made it nice and quiet. Just the way I like it. We made the trek down to the hotel room north of LBL via lots of back roads, and very minimal highway driving: Saturday morning, we met up with XFactor (‘yota) at Mrs. Scarlett’s restaurant next to the hotel. This park exceeded all the expectations we had going into it. I’m looking forward to the next trip out there, but we’ll probably hold off until it cools off some and kills some bugs (tick central right now!). We covered around 15 miles worth of trails Saturday, staying mostly on 2’s and 3’s since my wife wasn’t feeling 100%. We did manage to play around on Larry’s hill a little bit, but with things being so wet, it wasn’t happening. The fog was thick as we took the back roads down to SMORR:
