Burden Falls
The Burden Falls Wilderness area is a 3,775 acre portion of the Shawnee National Forest. There is an easily accessible upper fall (about a 20 foot drop) over a sandstone ledge. A little further down the trail leads you the second fall (about an 80 foot drop) over a series of cascades.
While it is a fairly small water fall (especially when it is dry) it is one of the tallest falls in IL.
