Oh Canada! 2013 Trip – Wet Wednesday
Well we’re doing things a bit differently this year in several aspects:
– I’m writing this trip report up postmortem since we didn’t have internet access during most of the trip. So there’s a good chance I’m going to get some places out of order, not that you care, you’re just here for the pretty pictures 😆
– Due to my wife’s condition (Baby 1 cooking) and time constraints, we did a fly and drive trip this year. This means no nifty trail reports and such, just driving and hiking photos. Hopefully they’ll be interesting enough for you kids 🙂

Wet Wednesday!
We caught an early morning flight from St. Louis to Calgary Canada, that part was pretty uneventful, other than the large amounts of rain we drove through (so not many photos from this part).
We left the airport and drover through Canada’s version of Kansas on the way to Lake Louise which was our first stop on the trip:
We got a giggle out of these “Nature Bridges” along the Canada 1 Highway. Both sides of the highway have tall fencing to keep the critters off the road, which is probably a good thing as I imagine plowing a bear at 75 mph would suck:

And we rain into quite a bit of rain on the way there:
Then the clouds were hiding most of the mountains:
It did mostly clear up once we got to Lake Louise. We wandered up to the lake to grab a few quick photos:
And hiked around the trail that followed the contour of the Lake (Nordic Ski Trail):
