Upgrading the smaller work bench

The smaller work bench (Click Me) as been serving me well, but it could use a bit of an improvement in a couple of areas. One thing it was lacking was a good bench vise. A Craigslist find later and I’m in business. The top of the bench was thick enough that I just drilled and tapped the mounting holes:

And stuck the vise on there:

Now that I had a good work holding solution, I got on a organization kick to help free up some working space in the garage. The bench typically looked like this:

Which meant I was pawing through piles to find what I was after. A score of three drawer box from a tradesman van helped this situation out a bit. Cleaned up the drawers, and modified the bench to accept them:

Now that everything has a place to live, that freed up some much needed space. The bench typically looks like this now days:

It’s nice having a horizontal working surface again!
