    Small Rolling Tool Tray

It seems that I often spend more time looking for tools that get spread out under the car than actually working on the problem at hand. It often looks like a small bomb went off in my tool pile when I really start to get into the swing of things. To put it mildly, this is annoying.

The Lone Ranger – Tranny Mount Update

Not much excitement for this post. My ‘better’ tranny mount that was based off of a control arm bushing from a mustang finally gave up the ghost: So I modified the member (again) to accept the stock ford tranny mount: I’m not real confident that this mount will last with the weight of the doubler hanging off the back. The ‘right answer here is probably to use a poly mount, but that means I’d need to redo my motor mounts,…

The Lone Ranger – New Transmission Cross member

When you do a doubler, you have to modify or make a new transmission cross member. If you’re running a decent sized lift (5” or better over stock) you can get away with hacking up a stock member. Instead of using the stock tranny mount (left) I nabbed the mount that I was…

The Lone Ranger – BW1354 Yoke Swap

I wanted to ditch the flat flange found on the back of my 1354 for a more traditional yoke setup. This allows me to have a greater selection of drive shaft donor’s to make up my drive shafts. This is a pretty straight forward swap as the front and rear transfer case shafts are the same. So you can literally just pull a yoke off at the junk yard (if you can find one) and slap it on the back…

The Lone Ranger – Master Cylinder Swap

What I thought was going to be a simple swap turned into a big ole waste of time. So I thought I’d throw some information out for those who might need this in the future. For the calipers for the Dana 44 I’m using the stock twin piston deal (same as what’s found on the Dana 60’s of the same vintage). The stock master cylinder for this vintage is in the 1-1/16 bore size range For the Rear calipers, I’m…
