You ever buy something, and then immediately question the wisdom of your actions? I know I have, but this last round was a dozy. After looking at 7 other cars that were dismissed for various reasons, I came across this gem:
This rolling beauty is a 2004 Mazda 3 5 door with 200k miles. And as most Craigslist specials go, this one needed some work to bring it back up to speed. That typically wouldn’t be a problem for me as I can knock things out pretty quickly, however, I forgot that with two little ones running around, my time in the garage is severely limited.
The following month I ignored working on The Mighty Merc so I could get the Mazda up and running. Things like Half Shafts:
And a slew of other odds and ends. In the end, I got tired of puttering around with it, and it turned out that I didn’t like the car as much as I originally thought I did as it was a bit too much ‘boy racer’ for me after all. So it got cleaned up and sold off, and now I’m looking for something a bit more mature. As far as life lessons go, this one wasn’t cheap, but it didn’t break the bank thankfully:
