The Mighty Merc – 8th Off Road Trip at Flat Nasty Off-Road 12/1/18

With a little goading from my internet friends, I made the trek down to Flat Nasty with another friend riding shotgun whom had never been off-roading before. It was great to meet up with a group of people that I have only spoken with online and it wise nice to be around people that have a similar philosophy in off-roading. There was definitely a bit of a mind warp so see so many pretty full sized trucks the mix.

Unfortunately Bray and I wound up getting separated from the group early on. I am still surprised that we didn’t cross paths at all throughout the day as that is usually how it works out with the larger groups. The good part of that is that I was able to let my passenger get his feet wet off roading without too much pressure from having all eyes on him. That gave him the confidence to try some of the tougher things in the park without fear.

Part of the group when we started out in the morning:

We covered roughly 12.5 miles on Saturday doing most of the tourist look while hitting some of the harder spots just to keep it interesting:

No real damage from the day. Both my passenger and I tried our best to take out the driver’s side rear window, but we failed (thankfully).
