The Lone Ranger – Winch Mounting

I’ve been wheeling for some time without a winch now, never really thought I needed one (probably still don’t). But the last time I rode along at Interlake gave me a new perspective. Long story short, it was very wet from melting snow, throw in a very sideways XJ (leaning in an alarming direction), and you have yourself the makings of a situation where using a Highlift/come-a-long to recover some one just isn’t a good answer. The Lone Ranger – License Light

The Lone Ranger – Second Stretch

Happy Day! The Ranger took its first ‘long’ road trip into work today (about 18 miles one way). I’m happy to report it didn’t fall apart and kill a buss load of Nuns on the way in… With the 4:10’s, it’s a bit steep, but really not that bad at all to drive (5th gear is 2k rpms at 70 mph). You’ve got to burn a bit more clutch to get it moving, but once its rolling life is good.…

The Lone Ranger – Death of a Cherokee

The Ranger has been kicked out of the garage for the past few days to allow me to strip down my other wheeler. I did grab a few photos of the XJ and the Ranger hanging out next to each other for a bit. Considering all the places I managed to squeeze that XJ in, the Ranger looks way overbuilt sitting next to it.
