Oh Canada! 2013 Trip – Sunday Sunday Sunday!
Once again my dear wife dragged us out of bed good and early to catch the sunrise. This time it was the Waterfowl lakes (upper and lower), and it was dang cold! (1°C), but the scenery was beautiful.

On the way to our next hike, we got to see some dumbass tourist taking photo’s of some Grizzly’s:

Back to Lake Louise, we hiked up to a Tea House they built up in the mountain:
This trail wasn’t nearly as steep, only gaining somewhere around 1,800 ft in elevation over about 2 miles:

The Tea House was built in the early 1800’s by the rail road as a tourist trap (kind of). Folks would use this as a base camp when they would attempt the various summits in the area. The Tea House is still active as a restaurant. One day in the beginning of the season, they do 20-30 heli loads worth of goods (about 100k lbs) to get them through the season, all the trash is packed up and hiked down the trail to dispose of it, and other supplies are hiked back up.
The Staff lives on sight during the season in a loft above the eatery, water is pumped up from the nearby lake and sterilized for use:
We left the Tea House after grabbing a couple of cookies, and continued hiking up to the little bee hive:

Once we hiked back down, we stopped by Marmot Lake for some quick photos:
We then made a few more stops on the way back to our hotel. Unfortunately I don’t recall the names of the places right now 😳
The switchbacks were crazy tight for a public road:
