St. Louis Zoo 6/25/16
We made our first trip with both kids to the St. Louis Zoo here recently. The grandparents came along and we all had a good time watching the kids explore better part of the Zoo. The Mighty Merc – Front Leaf Mounting
After getting the steering box in place, it was time to firm up where the front end wanted to live. It wound up being pushed farther forward than I would like it to be, and the high steer for the Tie Rod won’t work with the leafs in place, but that’s life.

The Mighty Merc – Making A Steering Box Fit
Now that I have a blank slate to work with, the real fun gets to start. That fun being making a hole for a traditional steering box to fit in such a way that it won’t interfere with the oil filter adapter, keep the pitman arm from hitting the frame, and tucked up as high as it can possibly be. Easy right?

Now that the IFS has been hacked out of the way, it is time to do a little freshening up the leaf springs that I plan to use. While not an exciting post, I did have some issues finding the right bushings for the springs I was planning on using. For the rear, I am using GM 63” leafs from a 2000 GM 1500 2wd truck. Garage Tips – No Longer Sweating To Death
The garage is actually pretty well insulated, which makes it easy to heat in the winter, and makes it a roaster in the summer. For the longest time I would just ‘sweat it out’ when things got warm and left the main door open as needed. For whatever reason, mosquitos have gotten to be unbearable around our place.
